M-257 "Charley Weaver" mechanical toy. This is a vintage toy made in 1962 by the Rosco company. Charley is in excellent condition, though the collar has come loose on one side. Using two "D" batteries (not supplied) his face lights up but he does NOT FUNCTION. (He should move his arms and smoke should come from his ears.) The battery compartment is clean - no battery acid. He stands about 12 inches. Missing is the shaker top that he holds in his right hand. There also is a very tiny, hardly noticable, scratch on the top of the bar, otherwise it is a very presentable toy. (Maybe YOU can get him to work!). The box is original but has seen better days as it is stained and frayed as you see in the third photo.
