R-108-e Edison STANDARD RECORDER

R-108-e Edison STANDARD RECORDER.  This recorder is identical to the very early Edison Standard Speaker (dated approx. 1889).  The sapphire recording stylus is in perfect original condition, as is the rest of the recorder.  HOWEVER, it remains to be completed since missing are the diaphragm, eyelet, gaskets and linkage.  This is a very rare item to complement an Edison Standard Speaker.  Note: The first photo shows the Recorder handle bar with much tarnish in the lower half; actually the recorder handle in this sale is in perfectly clean original nickeled condition.
