R-277a COLUMBIA/OXFORD Lyric Reproducer for Models BV and BVT

R-277a COLUMBIA/OXFORD Lyric Reproducer for Models BV and BVT. This is an ORIGINAL reproducer unique to these two cylinder graphophone models. Only the old stylus has been replaced with a NEW SAPPHIRE STYLUS, the rest is original and fully operational. Not shown clearly in the photo is the gold stenciling on the front part of the reproducer. This stenciling is dark gold and does exist completely on the black painted reproducer front. The phonograph (more correctly, a graphophone) was referred to as the OXFORD CYLINDER TALKING MACHINE and was sold through the 1908 Sears, Roebuck & Co. catalog, as shown in the first photo. This reproducer RARELY shows up for sale sans the graphophone. (The Sears catalog is not included, but is sold separately as item L-210.)
